Public health: Fifty medical stores, clinics fined

The district government will continue its clean-up operation against illegal businesses, says DCO.

As many as 50 clinics and medical stores were fined on Monday for selling spurious drugs and providing substandard medical services.


The raiding team comprised Heath EDO Farooq Azam Tarrar, District Health Officer Mumtaz Ahmad and drug inspectors from Hafizabad and Pandi Bhattian tehsils. The teams raided several quake clinics and medical stores in Hafizabad, Kaliki Mandi, Sukheki Mandi, Pindi Bhattian, Wanike Tarrar and Rasoolpur Tarrar. As many as 70 samples from the 50 shops and clinics were sent to laboratory tests in Lahore.

The DCO said that the district government would continue its clean-up operation against illegal businesses. He said a warning had been issued to all private hospitals throughout the district to improve cleanliness in their operation theatres and to use incinerator for dumping hospital waste.
