Around 6,000 Sikh pilgrims from across the country and abroad are arriving to participate in the religious festivities and perform their sacred rituals at the historic Gurdwara Sri Panja Sahib.
To provide complete security to all pilgrims, fresh and fully equipped police contingents have been deployed at various locations.
Under the supervision of Attock DPO Sardar Moarhan Khan, more than 1,200 police officers and personnel have been assigned security duties.
The deployment includes eight DSPs, 18 inspectors, SHOs, 115 ASIs and sub-inspectors, head constables, 810 constables, 65 lady constables, along with reserve duty staff, while 18 sections of Elite Commandos will also perform security duties.
The DPO said that the protection of religious sites and their followers is the police's foremost priority, adding that no miscreant will be allowed to disturb law and order.
Earlier, Sikh pilgrims from India and other countries visited Gurdwara Sacha Sauda in Farooqabad, where they performed their religious rituals. The main Vaisakhi ceremony will be held at Gurdwara Panja Sahib in Hasan Abdal on Tuesday.
