Illegal business: Fake pesticides recovered, 10 arrested

13 FIRs have been registered against those involved in the fake pesticides business.

The Pest Warning and Quality Control of Pesticides (PW&QCP) recovered fake pesticides of Rs8.8 millions market value during their ongoing campaign across the district. 


Assistant Director (Agriculture) Ahmed Naveed Ahsan said that the PW&QCP teams had raided seven sites and arrested nine people after fake pesticides were recovered from them. He said that 13 FIRs had been registered against those involved in the fake pesticides business.

Also on Wednesday, police recovered hundreds of thousands of rupees worth of fake agricultural pesticide from a truck in Gujranwala.

They arrested the truck driver and impounded the vehicle.

Irrigation officials and a police team stopped a truck on suspicion near Jandiala Baghwala. They recovered hundreds of kilograms of fake pesticide, which were seized. The truck driver, identified as Rana Arsalan, was arrested.
