LAHORE: The Lahore High Court will hear petitions of actress Veena Malik and cricketer Muhammad Asif on April 19.

Veena stated in her petition that police is not registering a case against Asif for issuing bogus cheques, despite orders of a sessions court.

On the other hand, Muhammad Asif has challenged the registration of an FIR against him.

He stated in his petition that Veena got hold of his cheques through unlawful means.

Let me ask her why she did not inform the people in the beginning when she used to go out with him (Asif) on date? Of course, being her fan we would like to know something more about her relationship with him.

But my question is: How did Veena got such a huge amount of money? Has she filed any taxes on it or has she disclosed the source of income anywhere. Some one should start an investigation into it. I know most of us have an idea about it.

Asif should have known that gorgeous and delicate cats like her should be handled with velvet gloves because if provoked, they are quite capable of leaving deep scars on body and soul that continue to bleed forever. Asif ought to be ashamed - firstly he borrows money from a girl and secondly he has the audacity of not paying what he owes. And does he carry loose cheques in his pocket like he carries opium?

Muhammad Asif has been on the wrong side of the law and was held up in Dubai, due to the personal intervention of Dr. Nasim Ashraf (Ex-PCB)& Gen.(R)Pervez Musharaf's nod he was released...otherwise our cricketers are well known for their flamboyant lifestyle and interest in keeping friendship with popular celebrities on both sides of the border...and love to stay alive in the media through their cheap acts...

Scores of match fixing incidents have been unearthed. Many well known and respected crickters have remained involved in this heinous money making game. The match fixers usually hire voluptuous party-girls to appraoch leading players. The Veena-Asif saga is redolent of the same. So there is no need of a serious look.

Our nation should now understand that most of the celebrities (which also include politicians) that they chase and emulate, are characterless. Unfortunately as a nation, we also depict shallow characters. We run after character-less people, who are in power, for worldly gains. We have become selfish and are ready to tramp anyone who comes in our way and don't care to do justice. But when we face someone powerful who can crush us for his gain,we start lamenting about the justice. The time is ask Allah for collective forgiveness. May Allah bless us all.

One odd news to bring the issue to notice is accepted but when a dedicated concrete effort is made to create an issue out of no issue will definitely bring bad name to the society and a feeling of repugnance in the common people. Our religion too forbids us to bring such things in open which may provide an opportunity to astray the common people. Recently telecasted program on Express News on the same issue created a feeling as the Media is doing everything to just make the business out of it. The print media in general and Express Tribune in particular must make it a point to not give extreme importance to these issue which may harm the already declining moral fiber of nation.
