As many as 71 murder cases, seven robbery-related killings and two extortion cases were recorded during 2024 in Khushab.
A spokesperson for Khushab Police said that strategic measures and rigorous efforts helped reduce crime rates significantly while ensuring the safety of citizens.
A total of 1,149 cases were traced, leading to the recovery of stolen property valued at over Rs136.2 million, which was returned to its rightful owners.
Law enforcement also arrested 1,239 proclaimed offenders, including individuals in both Category A and B.
In operations against drug traffickers, the police registered 359 cases and seized large quantities of drugs and alcohol.
Additionally, in 776 cases, illegal weapons were confiscated as part of efforts to curb unlawful activities.
Legal proceedings during the year resulted in the conviction of 1,468 individuals for crimes including murder, drug offenses, theft, and rape.
Khushab Police provided services to over 40,000 citizens through facilitation centres, addressing the concerns of 809 women and members of marginalised groups.
The issuance of 14,847 driving licenses marked a 360% increase compared to the previous year. Welfare programmes for police martyrs' families included the provision of residential plots and laptops.
DPO Toqeer Muhammad Naeem organised numerous open courts on the directives of the Punjab chief minister to provide citizens with access to justice.
