Tanzanian Vice President Dr Mohamed Gharib Bilal inaugurated UBL Bank (Tanzania) Limited at a ceremony held recently at the bank’s premises, located in the heart of the city centre.
In a press release, United Bank Limited says its global network has grown over the last five decades to over 1,300 branches across the UAE, Bahrain, Qatar, Yemen, USA and Pakistan. Through its subsidiaries, associated companies and representative offices, the group has also its presence in the UK, Switzerland, Oman, China and now Tanzania.
UBL President Atif R Bokhari said, “UBL’s decision to choose Tanzania for its first foray into Africa was based on a number of positives about the country including its sound economic performance, political stability, abundant natural resources and the fact that Dar es Salaam port serves as an important conduit in facilitating trade flows within Tanzania.”
