FAISALABAD:

A man was allegedly beaten up by a money-lender on Tuesday for failing to repay a loan.

Haq Nawaz, a resident of Chak 452-GB Rehmay Shah, told the media that he had taken a Rs5,000 loan from Arshad, also a resident of Chak 452, six months ago.

He said he could not return the money on time.

Nawaz said he requested Arshad to give him relaxation for some days but he and his accomplices Nasir, Rashid and Qurban abducted him.
“They took me to a sugarcane field where they beat me up...they also cut my hair, eyebrows and moustaches.”

“Then they paraded me in the village,” he added.

He said he had moved a complaint with the police but no action had been taken against the culprits.

Tandlianwala Saddar SHO said police had received a complaint by Nawaz. “We are investigating...Haq Nawaz has an old dispute with the accused. The story could be fabricated.”
