Quality control: SALU to get ISO certification

ISO workshops for the heads of the university will be organised, following which, an audit will be conducted.

A three-member committee, comprising Dr Abdul Razzaq Mahar, Dr Noor Ahmed Shaikh and Dr Ghulam Ali Mallah, was constituted by the Shah Abdul Latif University Khairpur vice-chancellor, Dr Parveen Shah, to prepare a plan for the implementation of the ISO 9001:2008 Quality Management System in the university.    


Dr Parveen Shah said that, in a very short span of time, SALU was ranked as the seventh-best general public sector university in the country. Implementation of ISO 9001:2008 protocol would promote further improvement in all activities, practices, education and research, she said.

It was agreed that, initially, the ISO certification and awareness training workshops for the academic and administrative heads of the university will be organised, following which, a preliminary audit will be conducted. On receiving a satisfactory audit report, certification companies will be invited for ISO 9001:2008 Quality Management System Certification.
