KARACHI:

The government of Pakistan Muslim League- Nawaz needs to review its weak strategies which are allowing India to spread terrorism on the Line of Control (LoC) and eastern borders of Pakistan, said Jamaat-e-Islami Chief Syed Munawar Hasan.

He was addressing a press conference at the Idara-e-Noor Haq, the party headquarters in Karachi, on Friday. “Our problems have increased by the intervention of India in internal affairs, as it wants to destabilise Balochistan. The soft reaction of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif over Indian aggression on LoC has further encouraged our neighbours to continue their terrorism activities in Pakistan,” said Hasan, urging the government to consider national integrity when holding dialogues with India.

In his opinion, the National Security Council would not yield any results if Pakistan’s national agenda was ignored.

Commenting on the peace talks with Taliban, the JI chief said that the government should hand over a policy paper to them before holding any formal session of discussions.

Hasan further stressed the need to unveil the details and statistics before the nation on the past military operations conducted by the Pakistan Army in Swat, Buner and other adjacent areas. He urged the PML-N government to evolve an effective strategy before the withdrawal of US Army from Afghanistan in 2014.

JI Karachi Chief Muhammad Hussain Mahenti, Karachi Naib Ameers Raja Arif Sultan, Hafiz Naeemur Rehman, JI Karachi General-Secretary Naseem Siddiqui and JI Information Secretary Zahid Askari were also present on the occasion.
