Tragic losses: Six children drown in separate incidents

The villagers rushed to the pond and managed to save two of the children while three girls could not be saved.

Six children have drowned in Pannu Akil, Thull, Bozdar Wada and Tangwani during the last 24 hours. The victims included four girls and two boys, while another girl and boy were rescued by villagers.


The first incident occurred in Saindad Jatoi village, where three girls were bathing in a fish pond when they were swept away towards deeper water by the current, on Saturday evening.

Upon hearing the children’s screams, the villagers rushed to the pond and managed to save two of the children while three girls could not be saved.

In a separate incident at village Bahadurpur near Thull, a five-year-old girl drowned in Bahadur Shakh. According to details, the vicitm, daughter of Saddam Tanwri, was playing at the embankment of Bahadur Shakh when she slipped and fell into the Shakh. Her body was taken out from the Shakh by the villagers.

In yet other incident, a minor boy fell into the watercourse and drowned in village Dingri near Bozdar Wada in district Khairpur. The victim accidentally fell into the stagnant water and drowned. Another minor boy, son of Hoat Dahani, drowned in the watercourse in Balach Dahani village near Tangwani in Kashmore district.
