The kidnappers later killed him and dumped his body before making good their escape. The victim’s body was taken to JMPC for autopsy, following which it was handed over to the family for burial.

In the jurisdiction of Kalri police station, the turf war between the Kutchi community and the Balochs claimed yet another life when a young man was shot dead on Shah Abdul Latif Bhittai Road. SHO Haji Sanaullah said that it appeared to be related to the ongoing unrest between the communities but further investigation was underway.

A 40-year-old businessman was killed in the Korangi Industrial Area. The victim was later identified as Shaikh Maqsood, a resident of Defence Housing Authority. The police said that Maqsood ran a chemical business in Joria Bazar and initial investigations suggest he was killed over personal enmity. DSP Qasim Ghauri said that the victim and the suspect, who is yet to be identified, were headed somewhere in a silver Cultus when the two of them had an altercation. Following the fight, Maqsood stepped out of the car and tried to escape but the suspect shot him multiple times.
