Development Projects: Governor visits Bajaur Agency

A total of Rs1.4 billion was allocated for development projects in the tribal belt.

In a visit to Bajaur Agency, Governor Engineer Shaukatullah Khan told authorities to work in an ‘emergency-like situation’ to develop the education system in the Federally Administered Tribal Areas(Fata).

“Every new girl joining primary school in Fata will get a monthly scholarship of Rs200 if she attends school for 20 days in a month,” he said, according to a press release issued.

Presiding over a briefing on the pace of progress of the current Annual Development Programme, the governor said there are “gigantic” tasks ahead.

The 34 projects from last year have been completed, while 50 to 60% of targets for 39 projects launched this year have also been achieved, the governor was told.

A total of Rs1.4 billion was allocated for development projects in the tribal belt.
