Filling Up Seats: Sindh govt allots portfolios to ministers

A total number of eight cabinet members have been given portfolios up till now.

After receiving no confirmation from the Muttahida Qaumi Movement on its proposal to join the government, Pakistan Peoples Party finally allotted five portfolios to its ministers on Thursday.


According to the notification issued by the Sindh government, Nisar Ahmed Khuhro has been given the portfolio of education and literacy, works and services has been given to Mir Hazar Khan Bijarani, prison, mines and mineral development to Manzoor Hussain Wassan, revenue (excluding land utilization) relief, rehabilitation to Makhdoom Jamiluz Zaman and agriculture to Ali Nawaz Khan Mahar for agriculture.

A total number of eight cabinet members have been given portfolios up till now. Earlier, Sharjeel Memon was given the information department, Dr Sikandar Mandhro law and parliamentary affairs and Murad Ali Shah was appointed as adviser to CM on finance department.

After the 18th Amendment, the provincial government had to reduce its cabinet to 11 per cent of the elected members which translates into a total of 23 cabinet numbers, including ministers, advisers and special assistants.
