Police claimed that the detainee, Abdul Ghani Rehman, along with his two absconding accomplices, had shot dead Sindh High Court’s Advocate Kausar Saqlain.
An alleged member of the banned Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan outfit, who is facing charges of murdering a lawyer and his two sons, was remanded to police custody for 14 days by an Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) on Saturday.
Police claimed that the detainee, Abdul Ghani Rehman, along with his two absconding accomplices, had shot dead Sindh High Court’s Advocate Kausar Saqlain and his two sons on Mauripur Road on May 28. Mauripur SHO Shafiq Tanoli said that the accused, who was arrested earlier on the same day from Hawkesbay Road, had confessed to have killed at least five Shia lawyers.
On Saturday, the Investigation Officer produced the suspect before the ATC, requesting his physical custody. Allowing the request, the judge remanded the suspect and directed the IO to submit the charge sheet at the next hearing.
