KARACHI:

Four workers, allegedly affiliated with a political party, were remanded to police custody till June 15 by a district and sessions court on Tuesday.

Amir Latif Bhatti, a judicial magistrate in district east, sent the men - Muhammad Jawad Qadri, Asghar Ali, Shibli Raza and Abdullah - in police custody for a four-day physical remand.

The Crime Investigation Department police had arrested the men in a raid near Nishtar Road on June 10. Cases were registered against the men for killing and attempted murder.

The investigating officer told the court that the suspects had confessed to their involvement in several murder cases during initial investigation. The officer while requesting for 14-day physical remand said that two of the accomplices, who managed to flee on June 10, had to be arrested on their indication.
