KARACHI:

Chief Minister Syed Qaim Ali Shah, during a surprise visit around the city, suspended Mithadar SHO Zafar Iqbal for not being on duty.

Shah along with Pakistan Peoples Party’s Sharjeel Memon visited the police station and checked the roznamcha [daily entry record] around 2am on Friday night.

Shah then proceeded towards Civil hospital, where he met the patients, doctors and paramedics staff.

The CM noticed the ‘unhygienic’ conditions of the hospital as the gutters were overflowing and directed the administration to resolve the issue. He also met a few patients who complained about negligent doctors. Speaking to the media afterwards, Shah said he will continue to make surprise visits to hospitals, police stations, colleges, universities and other public places to keep an eye on government officials.
