As many as 8,615 additional police jawans in Faisalabad are still awaiting payment of election duty stipends 12 days after the general elections, The Express Tribune has learnt.
Muhammad Naveed, a jawan who was deputed in the elections, said the police had promised to pay him Rs200 per day as stipend.
He said, “We [additional police jawans] are running around… but no official has paid us any heed after the election.”
Senior Superintendent of Police (Operations) Gohar Nafees told The Express Tribune that police was making payment arrangements.
He said, “The matter would be resolved in a few days.”
The senior superintendent said that the stipends would soon be sent to the police stations concerned.
He said from there the additional force jawans would be able to collect their stipends.
