Judicial official succumbs to gunshot wounds

Murder case registered after death in hospital

JARANWALA:

A judicial official who had been injured in a firing incident in the Satiana area succumbed to his wounds in the Allied Hospital.

According to police, Mian Tahir, a reader of an additional and sessions judge, had been shot and critically injured on Friday by his rivals while he was on his way to drop his children at school.

He was rushed to Allied Hospital in critical condition, where he died on Saturday night due to the severity of his injuries.

Upon receiving information, the SHO of Satiana Police Station took the body into custody, completed legal formalities and handed it over to the heirs.

The police registered a case under Section 302 of the Pakistan Penal Code and launched a search for the suspected attackers.

Meanwhile, four men reportedly assaulted a constable and took away cash, a mobile phone and his motorcycle, prompting police to launch a manhunt after registering a case.

Constable Shahid Ali, posted in Saddar, filed a complaint with Garh Police, stating that while on his way to Garh Fateh Shah after receiving information about drug dealers, the suspects Aziz, Shehzad, alias Shazu, Dilshad, alias Kodo, and Muhammad Ali, stopped him, assaulted him with punches and kicks, and forcibly took away his motorcycle and Rs10,000 at gu point before fleeing.

The complainant added that the suspects had attacked him over informing the authorities against them, and out of grudge, intercepted him during his official duty, assaulted him, seized his motorcycle and cash, and hurled threats.

The police registered a case under sections 382 and 186 of the PPC and launched raids to arrest the attackers.
