Call for justice: Demonstrators block GT Road

Police is not arresting the culprits because they belonged to an influential family, says protesters.

GUJRANWALA: Hundreds of demonstrators blocked the GT Road to protest the murder of a youth here on Monday.  Safdar Maseeh was reported to have been stabbed by Patras Maseeh and Javed after their children quarrelled while playing in a street. He died on Sunday.  On Monday, Safdar’s relatives and neighbours placed his body on the GT Road and raised slogans against police for not arresting the culprits. They said the police were not arresting the culprits because they belonged to an influential family. They said they would continue their protest till the arrest of the killers. Police said they were conducting raids to arrest the culprits.
