Inflation: Index down 0.19% during week

Compared to the corresponding week last year, the SPI for combined groups inflated 4.84%.

The Sensitive Price Indicator (SPI), for the week ended April 5 has registered a decrease of 0.26% over the previous week for the lowest income group. The SPI for the week under review for the above mentioned group was recorded at 174.76 points against 187.94 points registered in the previous week, according provisional figures from the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics.


The SPI for combined groups was down by 0.19%; down from 192.91 points in the previous week to 183.66 points this week.

Compared to the corresponding week last year, the SPI for combined groups inflated 4.84%. During the week under review, average prices of indexed items changed as follows: 19 items registered a decrease, 11 items increased and the remaining 23 items’ prices remained unchanged.
