Pakistan issued visas to 3000 US nationals

Secretary Foreign Ministry failed to explain why such a large number of visas had been issued.

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan issued over 3000 visas to US officials during the last two years, a Senate panelwas told on Tuesday.

A senior official of the Interior Ministry Ishfaq Ghuman told the Senate Standing Committee on Interior that the government issued these visas to Americans on one-year extension basis.

Senate Panel directed Interior Ministry officials to submit details concerning to US officials and citizens who visited Pakistan in the last five years.

Chairman Senate Committee Talha Mehmood said he will move privilege motion against Secretary Foreign Ministry Salman Bashir as he appeared to fail before the committee in explaining why such a large number of Americans succeeded to get visas without any solid reason.

Uproot: You must be missing part of your brain. Pakistani don't go the U.S. to rum spy operations and set-up hidden spy networks. You think American are going to Pakistan for jobs or sight seeing?

@Urooj Saifin: Its not the question of being paranoid but why so many American coming to Pakistan of course they are not coming here to work or for tourism. These must be CIA agents.
