Upcoming polls: Police directed to implement ECP’s code

Necessary arrangements should be made for holding smooth and impartial elections, says Bosal.

Commissioner Rawalpindi has directed DCOs and DPOs to ensure fool proof security arrangements in their respective districts for officers and staff of the local election commission, said a press release.


At a meeting on Wednesday, Commissioner Rawalpindi Imdadullah Bosal directed the officials concerned that the instructions of the Election Commission of Pakistan regarding code of conduct and other matters should also be implemented in letter and spirit.

He directed the officials that necessary arrangements should be made for holding smooth and impartial elections and the list of sensitive polling stations should be sent to his office on a priority basis.

On the occasion, the RPO Rawalpindi directed the police officers that a security plan of polling stations should be finalised at the earliest and the demands of extra police force and other resources should be made within a couple of days so that the matter could be taken up with the authorities concerned.

Check on the election activities should also be kept, he added. RPO Capt (retd) Muhammad Zubair, DCOs of Rawalpindi, Attock, Jhelum and Chakwal and CPO Rawalpindi along with other attended the meeting.
