Lt General Malik told the National Assembly’s Standing Committee on Defence that the media reports were being investigated.
Earlier this week, media outlets in Pakistan quoted official US military documents from the Middle East District which stated that the US Army will build a compound “to exchange information with Pakistan Customs Drug Enforcement Cell concerning smuggling activities in and around Karachi”.
“US Army Corps of Engineers intends to solicit a Request for Proposal (RFP) to construction firms or Joint Ventures (JV) experienced in working in the Middle East region who are interested in submitting a proposal for the design and construction of tactical command and operations centre compound in Karachi,” Dawn had quoted the documents as saying.
The Dawn report also said that the company which would get contract would be responsible for designing the building of a two-storey TCOC consisting of a main block and an interrogation cell building that would be built separately.

They have already constructed around 70 % at Diplomatic Enclave in Islamabad. what else they need?
When they say NO they mean they have not been asked. Americans don't need permissions. They just inform the government. Like the Drones, Abbottabad attack, NATO supplies, cross border attacks . Also when the Chinese get the Seaport the Americans get the Airport. Fair deal !!
Rightly so, the all weather Chinese friends has the priority over the Americans and the offer of the same including the whole city has been dispatched and their reply is still awaited.
US getting land for their embassy has nothing to do with the dire security situation Pakistan faces. Can you blame the US for not allowing direct flights?
They asked for extra land for the Embassy in Islamabad and got without delay and any hindrence. Where there is fire, there is smoke.
As if the US is not already tactically controlling everything in Pakistan.
