DIG Amjad Javed Saleemi has been appointed the new police chief of the city.
The Punjab government issued a notification of the appointment on Thursday.
Saleemi, previously serving as Sargodha’s regional police officer, will be Lahore’s 15the capital city police officer (CCPO) and takes over from Additional IG Aslam Tareen, who recently retired.
He was backed for appointment as CCPO by Punjab Police Acting IGP Khan Baig.
