ISLAMABAD: Afghan President Hamid Karzai on Wednesday said that terrorists do not come from outside but are rather originate from within the two countries, Pakistan and Afghanistan.

During his joint press conference with President Asif Ali Zardari in Islamabad, Karzai said that he was in Pakistan to express solidarity with the flood victims.

To a question related to the national security advisor alleging Pakistan with being involved in terrorist activities in Afghanistan, Karzai said that the matter is being discussed. However, he said that the claims are based on facts which are that that the terrorists do not come from outside but rather originate from within the soils of both the countries.

He said that both countries are suffering because of terrorism but also added that military operation is not the only solution to control it.

The Afghan president said that Afghanistan will engage in dialogue with those Taliban who are not part of Al Qaeda, and those who have no ideological enmity towards the country.

President Zardari also said that Pakistan was also ready to hold talks with extremist organisations.

Karzai termed the dialogue with Pakistan as a step forward in relations between the two countries.
