The Supreme Court gave a week’s time to NAB to file references against people responsible for appointing Sadiq and giving him protection.
The national watchdog said that the names of the two officials came up in the investigation.
NAB informed a two-member bench of the Supreme Court that Prime Minister Raja Pervaiz Ashraf had approved Sadiq’s appointment. He is the main accused in the multi-billion-rupee scam in the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (Ogra).
Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry had earlier directed NAB to arrest Sadiq by January 22, however, he continues to dodge his pursuers.
Justice Jawad S Khwaja said that NAB was not as “innocent” as it posed to be. He said that it appeared as though the NAB team had gone on a “camel to chase Sadiq.”
He said that NAB, police, Federal Investigation Authority (FIA) and the foreign ministry were responsible for helping Sadiq flee Pakistan.

@Analyzer: Absolutely true. We Pakistanis should not vote for the SC in the upcoming elections espeicially when we have the choice to elect democratic forces.
@Mohammed: This is because of this approach the Pakistan could not progress. If corruption is a big problem then why people don't protest against thst?
What will the SC do now? Beyond taking politically popular judgments SC has been mostly all talk and no action. Don't expect much to come of this.
@Liberal: Corruption is one of the reasons that people are looking to religious extremism for solutions. Its shame that people cant understand basic connections.
This is "Democracy is the best revenge" at work. Relax and enjoy the fruits of "Democracy Pakistani style" with Tikka & Kabab :-)
Judiciary should not intervene in the day to day affairs of the executive. Democracy should progress no matter at what cost. Corruption is everywhere so we should instead on focus on eradicating religious extremism from Pakistan. Laws such blasphemy are the real problem and not these petty issues.
@Logical:
Its only allegation to nawaz sharif in that case no evidence from any party
@EB:
Crime commited by him not his younger brother be mature PTI
@Muzaffar, how does that imply to vote for PTI?
I think it is time to relies that what our ruling party has been done, new doing and will be done. And now we have the right to choose by our vote a reasonable party…………
@popsaeed: Sadiq's younger brother is a PMLN MPA from Lahore. Now what do u say???
Now which NAB official is going to suicide ?
@Muzaffar:
Both leaders belongs to PPP not PML-N
Not new because Yousuf Raza Gillani has already done so when he was PM.....
Dont let Malikjee and Bader escape from Pakistan. Malik is a key witness in BB's death and should help the courts instead of running away.
do you need another reason to vote for PTI ?
