KHAIRPUR: A day-long youth conference organised by Right to Play, an international humanitarian and development organisation, took place in Khairpur on Wednesday.

The conference, titled Step towards change, was held to engage youth organisations and offer them an interactive platform where they could meet government officials and academics to understand the role of a social leader.

“It is imperative that today’s youth be given a platform to sharpen their leadership skills, develop a positive attitude and critical approach to understand important matters,” said Pakistan Peoples Party MNA Dr Nafisa Shah, also the chief guest.

The conference was attended by more than 100 members of different youth groups, including Khairpur Youth Organisation, Voice of New Generation, Young Students Welfare Organisation, student bodies from colleges and institutions of Sindh, Sanchal Hamdard Foundation and Right to Play.

“Realise your true potential which will lead to productive growth. If you waste time and energy, it will be injustice to yourselves and your country,” said the keynote speaker, Sindh youth affairs secretary Shoaib Ahmed Siddiqui. “You must move forward with time and diversify your thinking so you can succeed.” A panel discussion was also held on challenges and opportunities for the youth in the social development sector in Sindh.
