New Block: ‘We will bring about revolution through education’

Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif has promised to bring a revolution through education, Prisons Minister Malik Muhammad Iqbal Channar said on Friday. He was inaugurating a Rs6 million academic block at the Government Boys Model High School at Satellite Town.

The new block consists of six rooms and toilets. He said providing access to quality education to all was his government’s priority. “This is why the Education Department spends billions of rupees,” he said. He said the government had decided to upgrade several secondary schools to higher secondary schools. He said an examination hall would be built at the school soon.

@Dr.A. K.Tewari: Complete ban on Madressas is extreme step. I believe that a regulated madressa system would be a lot better. Madressas have been there since long and it was during 80s that education in Madressas was used to churn out militancy, thanks to Saudi funding and Zia's convoluted thinking. By regulation I mean approval of education, text books and teachers by a government body.

It's true to improve our society thought through Education. I appriciate this step, but there is some weakness in education sector
