JACOBABAD: An event was organised on Sunday at a temple in Teeyon Ram Bridge area in Jacobabad to mark the 39th death anniversary of Hindu spiritual leader Baba Kalyan Das Udasi. This is an annual three-day event which begins on November 2 every year. A number of religious rites are performed, including bhajan. Baba Kalyan Das was born in Naseerabad but migrated to Jacobabad because of the deteriorating law and order situation in the area during the British rule. He never married. His current gadi nashin, Jaish Das, lives in Indore, India. “Baba’s followers pray thrice a day for the progress and prosperity of the community as well as Pakistan,” said a disciple, Mukesh.
