ISLAMABAD:

Students of mass communication at National Language of Modern Languages (Numl) can finally produce their film projects on campus. A media lab for this purpose was inaugurated by Numl on Wednesday.

The lab has all necessary equipment, which will enable students to learn quickly and more effectively, said Mufti Jamiluddin Ahmed, the university’s head of mass communication department.

Prior to the lab, students had to take internships at television channels to complete their final film projects.

The lab has been established in collaboration with Huda Development Organisation and Entrepreneur Global Trust.

As the lab has just been established, there isn’t enough equipment
for individual use of students.

Instead, the class of about 30 will have to share the equipment and production roles by working together in groups.

Ahmed believes this won’t hinder the learning process and will in fact allow students to become good team players.

The university’s rector also presented shields to the chief guest during the inauguration ceremony and expressed hope to expand the lab in future.
