Changing loyalties: PPP leader joins MQM in Kashmir

Mirza Javed Iqbal has been impressed with the ideology and philosophy of MQM’s chief Altaf Hussain.

MIRPUR: A seasoned leader of Azad Jammu and Kashmir’s ruling Pakistan People’s Party, Mirza Javed Iqbal, joined the Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) on Sunday. Thousands of MQM activists from Mirpur, Kotli and Bhimber districts were present at a ceremony held at a hotel in this regard. Iqbal, who is also the former director general of Mirpur Development Authority, said he has been impressed with the ideology and philosophy of MQM’s chief Altaf Hussain. He added that an unequivocal change to ameliorate the lifestyle of people is the need of hour.
