Extortion case: Court moves hearing to Tuesday

The Anti-Terrorism Court III last heard from the accused on August 11.

KARACHI: The trial of Mohammad Asif and Javed, who have been accused of attempting to extort at least Rs200,000 from a doctor, was rescheduled for August 28 because one of the defence lawyers could not appear in court. The Anti-Terrorism Court III last heard from the accused on August 11, when they recorded their statements. The men have been charged under sections 385, 386, 506-B and 34 of the Pakistan Penal Code, which covers threatening violence to extort money, common intent and criminal intimidation.
