Brig Ahmed becomes new CBC president

KARACHI: An oath-taking ceremony was held at the central office of the Clifton Cantonment Board (CBC), during which Station Commander Brigadier Anees Ahmed took oath as the new president of the organisation and Lt Col Zafar Iqbal did so as a new member of the board.

Retired Colonel Abdul Qayyum opened the ceremony with a Quranic recitation. After the oaths had been taken, Brigadier Anees Ahmed made an address. He praised Brigadier Khalid Tirmizi, the outgoing president of the Cantonment Board for his work, and stated that the change in leadership will not affect the daily administrative operations of the Board. The new president also promised to perform his duties with integrity and diligence.

President Anees Ahmed stressed in his speech that the Board should work together to provide the best possible facilities to residents of the CBC and Defence Housing Authority. He also expressed his satisfaction at the provision of facilities thus far and spoke of the importance of staff being dedicated to their work.

The new president and board member were welcomed by Mohammed Hayat Mehar, the CEO of the Clifton Cantonment Board, who added that the entire staff of the CBC work to serve the people and strive to make theirs and exemplary institution.

Others in attendance at the ceremony were Additional CEO CBC Syed Zaki Haider; Chief Engineer CBC Niaz Hussain; Senior Engineer CBC Syed Ghulam Abid Shah; Assistant Secretary Jawed Mahmood; Coordinating Officer Babar Raza Khan; Lt. Col Abrar Hussain; Lt. Col Mohammed Asif; nominated member Aziz Suharwardy and dignitary members of the CBC.
