ISLAMABAD: The Adviser to the Prime Minister on Petroleum and Natural Resources Dr Asim Hussain called on Prime Minister Raja Pervez Ashraf at the PM house and discussed with him the current energy situation in the country. The adviser informed the premier that the compressed natural gas (CNG) stations were provided adequate supply of gas so that the consumers do not face problems during the Eid holidays. Ashraf said that every effort should be made to use the precious gas resources optimally so that the industry and the normal daily routine of people are least affected. Earlier on Friday, the Sui Southern Gas Company discontinued gas supply to the industries on the ground of low pressure, which raised severe criticisms by the Karachi Chamber of Commerce and Industry. However, the company opened the valve for CNG stations on Saturday at 3pm instead of the usual full-day suspension.
