Police defuse 25 kg bomb in North Nazimabad

The bomb was placed behind Dolmen Mall.

KARACHI: Police defused a bomb in North Nazimabad area of Karachi, late Monday night. The bomb was planted behind popular shopping center, Dolmen Mall.

Talking to The Express Tribune, area Station House Officer (SHO) said that the bomb weighed at least 25 kilogrammes and had been defused by the Bomb Disposal Squad.

No arrests had been made so far, while police had registered an FIR against unknown persons.

The situation was normal in the area.

Earlier, a 12 kilogramme roadside bomb planted near Safoora Chowrangi was defused by the Bomb Disposal Squad on August 10 – four days after a similar explosive was dismantled near the Rangers headquarters off Super Highway.

Both were believed to have been made by the same person.

@maheen shaikh: Agreed. we must appreciate and give due respect to the police on this work. this place is only at 5 min drive from my home !! and it is a prime shopping mall in the area !!.. Great Job Police and media should cover this news in their top headlines!
