KARACHI:

The Mohammad Pur police post of the Orangi Town was attacked by a mob following the alleged murder of a young boy in police firing.

Commercial activities were suspended at Kati Pahari and its surrounding areas after the victim’s relatives, neighbours and workers of the political party that the deceased allegedly belonged to gathered on road and staged a protest.

According to the protesters, a policeman killed Saddam due to personal enmity but the law enforcement personnel denied the allegations.

The mob opened indiscriminate firing at the police post, causing damages. The mob also attacked the house of the policeman allegedly responsible for the incident.

On the other hand, the policemen said that workers from a political party tried to snatch a police guard’s pistol and as he opened aerial firing to disperse them, one of the boys got injured.
