Usher’s stepson declared brain dead following jet ski accident

Usher’s fans and fellow celebs prays for his step-son’s recovery.

R&B star Usher Raymond’s 11-year-old stepson, Kyle Glover, has been declared brain dead by doctors after a major jet ski accident on Saturday. According to TMZ, Glover has not experienced any brain activity since he was admitted to the hospital and a decision has yet to be made about taking him off life support.

Glover, son of Usher’s estranged wife Tameka Foster, was hit by a passing jet ski while sitting on an inflatable tube on Lake Lanier in Atlanta, Georgia. He suffered severe head injuries and was airlifted to Atlanta’s Egelston Hospital in critical condition. The Daily Mail reported that Kyle was unresponsive when he was rescued from the water.

Usher reached his stepson’s bedside early morning on Sunday while his mother, Foster has not left the hospital since the time of the accident. A mother of five, Foster also took to Facebook to thank her family and friends for their love and support.

“Kyle, You are strong...You’ll be saved I know it. I love you my baby. I need all prayers for my son! Thank you everybody!” she wrote.

Celebrities have already taken to Twitter to offer their sympathy to Usher and Foster.

“My deepest prayers go out to Tameka, Usher and both of their families right now,” rapper Diggy Simmons wrote Sunday night, while “American Idol” alum, Fantasia posted, “Everyone, please pray for Usher and Tameka’s son! This is the time they really need your prayers!”

The Department of Natural Resources in Atlanta is now launching an inquiry into the accident. The organisation plans to recreate the incident as part of their investigation as well as determine the speed of the boats that were present on the water at the time.
