Filmmaker Karan Johar has shared a post expressing his support for Ibrahim Ali Khan, son of actors Saif Ali Khan and Amrita Singh, ahead of his Bollywood debut.
In a message posted on Instagram, Karan Johar reflected on his long-standing association with Ibrahim's family, which spans over four decades.
Karan Johar recalled meeting Amrita Singh when he was 12 during her collaboration with his father, Yash Johar, on the 1984 film Duniya. He mentioned the warmth she treated him and described the strong bond they formed from that point onward.
Karan Johar also noted his first meeting with Saif Ali Khan, describing him as “young, suave, and charming.”
Karan Johar highlighted his deep connection with the Khan family in his post, stating, “Films are in their blood, their genes, and their passion.” He shared his excitement for Ibrahim’s debut in Dharma Productions’ upcoming film Sarzameen and mentioned that Ibrahim’s upcoming film would bring forward a new wave of talent.
Karan Johar’s post came as part of the announcement of Ibrahim’s entry into Bollywood. His sister, actress Sara Ali Khan, also shared her support by reposting Johar’s message with a caption welcoming Ibrahim to the film industry.
Ibrahim’s debut follows in the footsteps of his family’s longstanding presence in Indian cinema. He is expected to appear in Sarzameen, directed by Kayoze Irani. His entry into the industry has generated interest and anticipation among fans.
The announcement of Ibrahim's debut comes shortly after Saif Ali Khan's recovery from a violent attack at his home, which occurred during an alleged robbery attempt. Saif has since undergone treatment.
Following immediate surgery at Lilavati Hospital, Saif was discharged on January 21, sparking criticism from some on the internet regarding the speed of his recovery.
Responding to these trolls, Saba Pataudi, the sister of actor Saif Ali Khan, took to Instagram to defend her brother, urging them to "educate yourselves."
She shared a post featuring cardiologist Dr Deepak Krishnamurthy, who clarified the reason behind Saif's rapid recovery.
Dr. Krishnamurthy explained that individuals who undergo serious surgeries, like a cardiac bypass, often resume normal activities, such as climbing stairs, just days after the procedure.
