Saif, Kareena step out with heavy security after knife attack

The couple appeared in public for the first time after Saif was discharged from the hospital.

Bollywood stars Saif Ali Khan and Kareena Kapoor were seen stepping out together for the first time since the actor was attacked in his Bandra residence on January 16, 2025.

The couple was accompanied by heavy security after Saif was discharged from Mumbai's Lilavati Hospital following surgeries for the multiple injuries he sustained in the violent knife attack.

The attack occurred during an attempted robbery at their 11th-floor apartment in Bandra. Saif, was stabbed six times by an intruder and sustained critical injuries to his neck and spine. He was rushed to the hospital and underwent two surgeries before being discharged on January 23.

The couple's appearance on January 26 showed Saif and Kareena walking out of their home, visibly surrounded by a large security presence. Videos taken by paparazzi captured them entering a car as they left their residence. Saif appeared to be recovering well, though a bandage was visible around his neck where he had been injured.

Their appearance comes after the police had arrested a suspect, identified as Shariful Fakir, a Bangladesh national, in connection with the attack. However, the investigation took an unexpected turn when fingerprints found at the scene did not match those of the suspect.

Mumbai police have since sent additional fingerprint samples for further testing.

On social media, Saif’s fans shared messages of support, with many praising him for his bravery during the incident. One user wrote, "He is a hero who saved his family. Salute to him."

Saif was also seen with Bhajan Singh Rana, the auto driver who helped him reach the hospital on the night of the attack.

As for their professional lives, both stars have a busy year ahead. Saif Ali Khan is set to appear in Jewel Thief: The Red Sun Chapter and Race 4, while Kareena Kapoor will be seen in Meghna Gulzar’s upcoming film Daayra.
