Amy Schumer is laughing off a surprising comment from Bradley Cooper that left her momentarily speechless. During an appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon on Tuesday, Schumer, 43, revealed that Cooper mistakenly assumed she was 50 during a recent encounter.
“I saw him, and you know, ‘How are you?,’ and he said, ‘You know, I turned 50 this year’ and he goes, ‘You 50?’” Schumer recalled. “I tried to recover — you know, I’m 43 — so I’m like, ‘I will be 50! But I’m not 50 yet! Yeah no, I’m not, Bradley, but thank you for thinking of me!’”
The Trainwreck star, known for her self-deprecating humor, took the moment in stride. She joked about society’s obsession with youth and attractiveness, even poking fun at fitness culture. “People literally run!” she said. “They’re riding a bike to nowhere to the Wicked soundtrack. It’s pathetic!”
Schumer also shared that she’s frequently mistaken for fellow comedians Melissa McCarthy and Rebel Wilson but doesn’t mind. “And I should be so lucky. I don’t correct them. I just go, ‘Yeah, Bridesmaids changed my life.’”
This isn’t the first time Schumer has publicly gushed about Cooper. In 2015, she hilariously detailed her crush on him, joking, “When he is in front of you, you just grab your ankles.”
