Lil Yachty admits to mistreating Mariah The Scientist: 'I was a s*** person to her'

Lil Yachty opened up about his past romance with Mariah during an appearance on Club Shay Shay.

Lil Yachty has finally opened up about his past romance with Mariah The Scientist, who is now in a relationship with Young Thug. During an appearance on Club Shay Shay, host Shannon Sharpe brought up Mariah’s recent Caresha Please interview, where she reflected on their history. Initially caught off guard, Yachty admitted for the first time that they dated and acknowledged he was not a good boyfriend.

“I was a sht person to her,” Yachty confessed. “She was really great. So great, so I get it. She was a great person though, man.” Mariah previously shared that she wrote two songs for Yachty while they were in college, but he never listened to them. “I put them on an iPod, I gifted it to him, I signed the back, it was real cute,” she said. “And he told me he did not want to listen to it because, ‘I don’t wanna sht on it.’”

Despite their past, Yachty expressed appreciation for how Mariah spoke about him. “That’s the first time she ever spoke on us ever publicly,” he said. “I honestly think that she was pretty respectful. She didn’t sh*t on me … I brought it upon myself. She didn’t tell no lies. … Shouts out to her. Tons of love, and I respect her.”
