MUMBAI:
Bollywood’s beloved Kaka Rajesh Khanna, who has not been keeping well, is now more than fine, his family said Thursday.
“He’s more than fine. He is absolutely fine. Thank you for your concern,” Rajesh Khanna’s son-in-law, actor Akshay Kumar told reporters outside Khanna’s bungalow, ‘Ashirwad’ in Bandra.
Akshay’s comments came after the 69-year-old veteran’s manager Ashwin said on Wednesday that the actor had stopped food intake for the “last three or four days”.
Worried fans lined up outside his house, and India’s first superstar Rajesh Khanna happily obliged by waving to them and showing them the ‘V’ for victory sign from the balcony of his house. He was dressed in a crisp white kurta, a stole and dark shades.
With a heavily bearded look, he appeared weak, but seemed to be in high spirits as he sported the same smile which made millions of his female fans’ hearts skip a beat in his heydays.
He was accompanied by his estranged wife Dimple Kapadia, who takes regular care of him nowadays, as well as Akshay, who is married to his elder daughter Twinkle.
While Twinkle is expecting her second baby, her younger sister Rinke has flown down to Mumbai to be with her ailing father.
The actor began his career with Aakhri Khat in 1966. He became a popular name with his work in films like Raaz, Do Raaste and Aradhana and was crowned “superstar” after he delivered 15 consecutive solo super hits.
In April, he was admitted to a hospital due to a brief health scare.
He recently featured in a TV commercial for Havell’s fan.

@Winky: Haha.. dear I was just joking.. you took it seriously.. :p @BlackJack: my mistake sir... :D
WIsh him a speedy recovery.
@Winky: My error - apologies for the misunderstanding.
Doubt there will be any Super Star in India , like Rajesh Khanna.
Hardly any one knows this actor's name in tamil nad(south india) let alone his films for good will wishes.. Still its a news in pakistan news site which shows the cultural similarity and linguistic similarity of north india and Pakistan which should guarentee better integration through trade, commerce and criss cross people visits . But still there is artificial barrier and animosity and always suspicious of one another. sad.
(Pakistani hindu says to blackjack "babu moshai means older brother". Blackjack graciously defends himself and says to pakistani hindu "i know bengali reasonably well")
Its real fun see self styled experts (aka opinionated idiots) argue with each other. Babu moshai means sir, mister, sahib, gentleman, etc.; it does not mean brother or big brother. Love ET for all this free (phokat) entertainment.
@BlackJack: Man, it's ok we both watched Anand, it was just an affectionate way of not only saluting and wishing him good health, but doing it by remembering my favourite movie of his (the formula's also associated with him anyway, even in parodies), didn't thought a second that it will trigger a microcosmic debate, my bad for such cultural-reference blasphemy.
@BlackJack: true....but the manner in which he spoke those two words. BABU MOSHAI.....the title got stuck with him, never amitabh bachchan has been associated with that title
@Pakistani Hindu: Dude - the reference is unmistakeable (and I know Bangla reasonably well). Any senior citizen can be an elder brother, why call Rajesh Khanna that? (Pointless debate, but rebuttal to a silly argument).
@BlackJack: Dear.. Babu Moshai is not a name.. it means elder brother.
@geeko: Warm wishes to Rajesh Khanna. Babu Moshai was Amitabh Bachchan in the movie Anand.
Live long Babu Moshai!
You are the real super-star. Kaka, don't worry, whole India is with you and praying for you. And the happiest thing that your family is with you, and you aren't fighting it alone. Your loved one's are with you.
