Nine killed in Karachi violence

Police found three bodies in gunny bags in Liaquatabad and near Mauripur Road area.

KARACHI: Nine people were killed as a result of violence in Karachi on Sunday, Express News reported.

Four people were killed and two injured in the Mauripur Road area when two opposing groups exchanged fire. Police immediately reached the area and brought the situation under control.

According to SSP West Amir Farooqi, the dead include Lyari gang members who were accused of being involved in various illegal activities.

In another incident late last night, a Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) activist was killed and six other people were injured when unknown men opened fire at them in PIB Colony.

After the killing, a heavy police contingent was deployed in the area.

Police also found three bodies in gunny bags in Liaquatabad and near Mauripur Road area.

Another man was killed in the Golimar area by unknown men.
