SIALKOT:

Businessmen and politicians of the city have condemned the federal government for not providing solutions to the energy crisis, inflation in prices of daily-use items, unemployment and law and order problems.

Sialkot Markazi Anjuman Tajraan president Mehar Ghulam Mujtaba said the government had not provided any substantial solution to the power crises.

Businessman Mehar Ghulam Mujtaba said the Rs70 billion allocated for the Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP) should have instead been used to pay off the circular debt and solve the power crisis.

MNAs Khawaja Muhammad Asif, Rana Abdul Sattar, Sahibazada Syed Murtaza Ameen and Zahid Hamid, all members of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz, said the budget had provided no relief to the people. They said there were no provisions in the budget for controlling inflation and unemployment.

@Nadir: Poor by force or Poor by choice? Want to help poor people, give them a job. Not begging money.

Nadir | 10 years ago | Reply 70 billion will hardly make a dent in the circular debt, but businessmen have no qualms taking away the very little social protection the very poor recieve.
