Robbery suspect apprehended

Islampura police claimed to have arrested a suspect involved in a recent robbery at a chicken shop adding that efforts are under way to apprehend his accomplice.

According to police, two suspects had looted Rs174,000 from a chicken shop in the Islampura area a few days ago before fleeing the scene. Acting on the information, a police team led by Sub-Inspector Qateel analysed CCTV footage from the area and traced one of the suspects, identified as Tahir. He was subsequently arrested during a targeted operation. Police said the footage showed the suspect escaping the scene on a motorcycle along with his accomplice after committing the robbery.

A case has been registered, and further investigation is under way to arrest the second suspect and recover the looted amount.
