“Male doctors and female gynaecologists have been hired for the hospital,” Faiz Muhammad, chief coordinator for the Provincial Disaster Management Authority, told the court during the hearing. He also invited the PHC Chief Justice Dost Muhammad Khan to visit the camp.
The court had taken suo motu notice over the lack of facilities at Jalozai, following an application sent from one displaced family that lives at the camp. The application was turned into a proper writ petition.
The chief justice was told that electricity pylons have been fixed and supply to the camp would soon begin and a medical facility has been provided. The official said that fumigation for killing insects was also carried out across the camp and children were being administered anti-polio drops.
The chief justice remarked that children who lived in the camp must be on priority.
Faiz said that the camp has only 1,000 and 11,000 are still needed to cater to needs of the families. The chief justice said that the administration should keenly observe families and those with most children should be provided fans immediately.
