According to a spokesperson of Punjab University, a committee was formed headed by Controller Examination Dr Liaquat Ali after a student named Shanzay Sadiq was earlier caught attempting her exam at home.
Sadiq used to take the answer sheet home a night before the exam and take the question paper half an hour before the paper started. She would fill her answer sheet for three hours at home and would return the paper to her centre.
The committee received a tip-off about two girls in Lahore involved in a similar activity. The committee raided their exam centre before the girls arrived to submit their papers to the staff.
According to initial reports, the superintendent and additional superintendent both were allegedly involved in this case. The records of the college have been seized by concerned authorities to investigate the matter further.

@Jibran: The point is that there exists some accountability in the Punjab where efforts are being made to improve overall standards. I don't think that you would find such transparency and crack downs in other regions where things are swept under the rug. The bottom line is that institutions and transparency is evolving in the Punjab which is why the standard of education there is also improving to lead the nation. It's no wonder that the Punjab is the most developed and stable region in Pakistan.

I am great advocate of open book examinations. Here in the West, the approach varies from teacher to teacher. I had taken some open book examination on International Marketing and Strategic Management in the University of Ottawa, Canada.
I have found open book examinations more challenging than the traditional examinations. While perusing my Masters back home in India, an England returned professor would give us mid term examinations to be completed without proctor either in the library or the comfort of one's own home. In the final external examination everyone scored very good marks.

In today's wold, Degrees have become piece of papers and nothing else.
By obtaining a degree through unfair means, it cannot make the false degree holders as eligible as of those who work hard before their examinations.
The bottom line is that there are few people among hundreds who can deliver and rest is junk of people in the society.

I guess this must be a record breaking achievement in the history of cheating. Have heard people do cheating in the examination halls but taking papers home and then returning it is an example in itself. These girls should be given a medal in cheating with a heavy fine and then forced to study till they pass the exam.
