KARACHI: Dr Lata, another Hindu woman who allegedly converted to Islam and married a Muslim, was sent to a women’s shelter till March 26 by Justice Shahid Anwar Bajwa of the High Court of Sindh here on Tuesday. She was produced in court amid strict security. Her husband Nadir Baig’s lawyer submitted that she made a statement voluntarily before the judicial magistrate South that she took the decision without any pressure. She maintained that the FIR lodged at Defence police station by her father Dr Mukesh Kumar was false as she was not abducted. Noor Naz Agha advocate represented Dr Mukesh Kumar. The bench remanded Dr Lata to protective custody and ordered that no one be allowed to meet her. The court also ordered that she be produced before the Supreme Court as ordered on March 26.
