PESHAWAR: At least 17 militants, including foreigners, were killed in mortar shelling, by security forces, on their suspected hideouts in the Orakzai tribal region on Wednesday. According to officials, militant hideouts in the Kago Kamar and Tajika areas of Upper Orakzai were targeted. Officials claimed that 17 militants were killed in the shelling including six foreigners – two Arabs and four Tajiks. A key militant commander was also killed in separate clashes in the Ghundaki area.
