Robbers dressed as policemen loot bank in Chichawatni

Bank robbed of around Rs2.3m in cash and jewelry worth more than Rs200m.

CHICHWATNI: Eight cons dressed as policemen, riding a police mobile, robbed a bank of around Rs2.3 million in cash and jewelry worth more than Rs200 million in Chichawatni on Monday.

According to the police, the guard of the bank, Abid Hussain, was abducted by the robbers and taken to a rented flat yesterday night.

The police tried to identify the culprits through the guard, but failed as he was blindfolded during his abduction. The police, however, claim that one of the culprits has been arrested.
